Queer Surf
Queer Surf began in 2021 and is our longest running program at Coastal Queers! Queer Surf provides free gear, lessons, and transportation to the beach for up to 20 queer surfers per meet-up. It is an all ages, all experience level program that prioritizes getting out to the beach and into the water as a community. After the surf, we share a meal, games, and prizes at Surfside Grill. This is an open program.
This program runs from June through September in collaboration with Surf Sister and Surfside Grill.

This program runs from October through June. This is an open program for youth ages 12-18.

MAke n’ Mend
Make n’ Mend began as a workshop series that paired conversation with learning tactile art skills, and has since grown into a dynamic program that responds to the queer community’s creative needs. Open to amateurs, professionals, and everyone in between, this program focuses on building capacity in our community to connect through creativity, learn new skills, hold space for complex conversations, and more.
Make n’ Mend is led by Naasʔi ʔawatin (they/he) of the ḥiškʷiiʔatḥ First Nation. Naas’ dedication to fostering human connection, knowledge sharing, and community healing enriches every session. This is a closed program.
